Woodstock Baptist Church Life Today

Our organised activities include a Sunday morning worship with crèche and Sunday School. A variety of different mid-week meetings occur including prayer, Bible study and fellowship meetings as well as occasional social events.

Sunday Morning worship commences at 10:30 and concludes with refreshment served before noon. In these times we worship Jesus, in song, with our minds and hearts; we encounter God in his word by his Spirit and seek to bring the needs of the world and one another before him in prayer.

Building

We believe prayer changes situations and prayer groups meet weekly and monthly to intercede on behalf of others and seek a revival of God's people - the coming of his kingdom in the lives of individuals and communities.

We hold regular mid-week meetings to study the Bible, pray and offer Christian Fellowship.

Weekly day-time activities include a Ladies Fellowship group that meets on a monthly basis to support and encourage one another in the Christian faith and a Wednesday gathering for short acts of worship and study.

Various social activities are also good occasions for deepening friendship. We also try and play our part in the life of Woodstock with the church used as a venue for various exhibitions and social occasions.

Our Worship group is made up of a number of teenagers who are gifted musicians or singers under the leadership of Jesse(17). They play at least once a month and are getting more confident at sharing new songs with us.

As a branch of Christ's family, we aim to help, support and encourage one another in all parts of our lives.

We have a part-time minister and six deacons but regard it as the right and responsibility of all members to be involved in running activities and making decisions about church life.

A list of planned formal and informal meetings only tells part of the story.
